So we got transfer calls last night. I will be staying in Leander for another 6 weeks. I'm extremely excited because there is so much going on here and so much potential we have to work with, its just the down time I am worried about. I already feel like I have knocked every street so that will be fun. But no for real, I am excited to stay!
MIRACLES: You know, I don't think I could ever deny the fact that there is a God. I have seen way too many miracles in my life to deny that truth. I feel like every day is a miracle, but especially this week I had an amazing experience.
We found this family who told us to come back, so we did and taught them and it went well. When we came back for our return appt. they were not there. HOWEVER their neighbor was outside and he walked up and started talking to us. (Now you need to realize, this is in the somewhat ghetto part of Leander... the smallest part ever...) Anyway, so he is from Mexico and such a good guy. So we set up to come back to him, which we did. When we came back he was sitting on the tailgate of his truck and just hanging out and then he was real nice and all that jazz. He was talking to us and really opened up. He talked about how he has so much sadness in his life and that he will come home from work and remember all the sadness that he has and just kind of drink beer, and he had a beer with him. So anyway I said, "You don't need to be drinking..." And I tell him about how God is his Heavenly Father and He loves him and is always there for him. And before I knew it, he grabs his beer and just dumps it out on the ground and says, "I don't need this." I was so proud of this man. And it is incredible the amount of love I was feeling for him, even from the time that we had walked up and started talking. So we got to know him more an then began to teach him the plan of salvation. He had a hard time understanding, so a lot of what we said I had to repeat in Spanish for him. I am not even kidding you. My spanish was so good, and I don't say that to brag about it, but because I KNOW that this man needed to hear and UNDERSTAND in his own tongue this message. I know that God blessed me in order to carry that message His needing child. So, we had a great time with him and he is very excited about the Book of Mormon and about praying and coming to church, he even said he wants to be baptized. When we asked him what day we could come back he said, "For me...Every day." I AM SO EXCITED TO BE ABLE TO TEACH HIM! I know that Heavenly Father has sent me here and kept me here for that reason. I can communicate wth him and I feel a strong bond and love for this man. I am so blessed to be able to be a part of this work and be an instrument in God's hands for the benefit of His children.
Everything is going well here in Leander. I learn and grow so much every day.
<3 Always,
Elder Kyle David Webb
