Christmas Pipes 12/5/2011

This week has been pleasurable. Minus the freezing cold weather that makes me throw up. It is really getting rather frigid and I am not a fan as we already know. But anyway, the past few days we have been getting the (rain?) that we have wanted for so long...Its not really rain becaue it is more of a misty fall of water droplets. But I mean its moisture so thats good. Its just kind of obnoxious to work in.

We are still trying to work hard. And meet with people and make sure everything is good. And to be missionaries. It will be easier 'cause now we can use the whole, "We have a message of Christ just in time for Christmas!" But still sometimes you get a tough crowd. The ward is doing pretty good. People like us I guess, I don't really know why but whatevs. I do enjoy this area, although its funny because once you have been somewhere for a while, you just feel like you have knocked EVERY door. It's funny.

Last night I ate pig's feet. It was aight. The only gross thing was that it was in a soup and she just dumped the whole like foot in there. So everytime you tried to eat it you had to like suck all the meat off the feet bone and then spit out the little toe particles. It was gross...So many tiny little bones. But hey.

It always help me feel better to hear that I've got pray-ers praying for me. I can feel their effects, especially when I work hard, I get to earn them. So thank you.

Have a wonderful week. Remember to have fun and think positively. I notice the affects when you don't. It bites.

I love you berry berry much and I'm glad heaters were invented.

My week has been alright. We enjoyed a Thanksgiving at the Farley's house. They love us apparently so they wanted us to join them. It was pretty good. We ate some gooood turkey and enjoyed the day. They also took us to this place that has real life dinosaur tracks. It was legit. It is in some river bed and we went and walked to them and saw them and it was cool. It is right in our area too! So I got some jazzy pictures of them.

We also went to the Harbour's for a little gathering. They had a dessert party and it was cool. We arrived wearing fake mustaches because Bro Harbour has had one since he was like 19 and he is 48 now...So. Anyway, I always joke around with him about it and been wanting to buy fake mustaches for like 3 years, but I haven't been able to find them. I finally did and I was like, duh! So then Elder Caldwell got one too. Brother Harbour was just like, "Jen! Come look at these guys!"

The weather is like freezing cold. I am pretty sure I want to die. The Farleys bought us sweaters for Thanksgiving just because they are so nice and so I have been wearing that the past couple of days. But, oh man!

Oh, so yeah. I don't know if I have ever said much about Texas and like its culture.
Alright.
-To have a giant beautiful BBQ or smoker is like to inherit the land of milk and honey from God himself.
-Everyone at least has an outline of Texas or a Texas star somewhere as a decoration in their homes.
-It really is all about Texas.
-Not many people have southern accents, but when they do, the TOTALLY do.
-Weeds are just as beautiful as nicely landscaped lawn.
-I'm pretty sure EVERYONE is religious in some form or fashion.
-3 word, "Hook 'em Horns" ... Long Horns rule the earth.
So anyway just a few little tidbits that I can think of right now. You really just need to experience it for yourself.

Alright.
I'm not going to beat around the bush or anything like that.
Yesterday was like the best day of my life, I'm pretty sure. Holy macoral.

Brother Harbour is the best man alive. You could just tell on his face like the whole time that he was getting baptized. He seemed happy and it was a big deal and it is something eternal. I loved it. You could just feel some excitement among the family. I'm pretty sure Sister Harbour was just beaming the whole time. The place was packed, Elder Caldwell said there were over 125 people there. The cool thing is this: they had Elder Caldwell playing the piano and me leading the music so I got to stand in from and just look at the Harbours the whole time. We kept like exchanging glances and we were all just smiling so much.

Sister Harbour spoke at the baptism and she talked about us and how we were "hand picked just for Bro. Harbour... that the Lord sent us here in Leander right when they needed us." She said that we are like their sons and she loves us so much. So that just made me feel really good, and grateful. It helped me realize my purpose and how blessed I am to be used as an instrument for the Lord in this family's life.

There was just such a spirit of love there and I was filled with so much joy. Sister Harbour's dad, the one who performed the baptism, came up to me and said, "Well, you didn't just help one man make it into the celestial kingdom, you helped a whole family." And that is what makes me so happy. Knowing that now, this family can return to live with their Heavenly Father and be together like this forever. Never have I felt joy like this. There are things on earth that may bring some happiness... but I have never felt a sure joy like I have from this experience with this elect man. I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for this opportunity.

I love this. I have so much to be grateful for this holiday season. And its all because God has blessed me with so much love and so many miracles that I cannot even describe. I know He hears and answers our prayers. And He has so much mercy and love towards each and every one of us. No matter who we are.

Have a very Happy Thanksgiving. We really have a lot to be grateful for.
