"In 1934 there was the NRA"

I just felt like adding a weird title to this e-mail. So I quoted this really weird guy who we talked to. He talked for like 30 years and he was hilarious! He kept on saying the same stuff over and over and he had no teeth and he kept putting his hands up by his face and making rather odd noises... HA! Anyway. He was an interesting fellow.

News: I figured out this week that Elder Andersen is Ben Crabtree's long lost twin. I'm not even joking to you right this minute. Like they are SO ALIKE!! It is hilarious. Elder Andersen is totally cool and we get along really well. He is just exactly like Mr. Crabtree. They have the same manerisms and like they say the same stuff and talk the same! Make the same faces and all sorts of things. I am not even kidding. My trainer is Ben Crabtree.:)

Anyway. This week was good. Some of the days were hecksa hot. We rode our bikes some and it was alright. But our car has been the main form of transportation. We are still looking for people to teach. We met a referral this week who was so cool! They have this cute little family and are so nice. I think they are thinking that we are really only going over there to "hang out" though. We stopped by again and they just talked forever about like themselves and showed us around their house. We didn't get to teach them anything but it was kinda cool to get to know them. They had music videos playing on the TV... It was so distracting. So we asked them to turn it off. Haha. I just thought I would add that in... Anyway. We are also kinda teaching this guy named Rico. He is way cool. But he is like a paranoid schystafrenic (we know because one of his best friends is a recent convert that we visit and help out... she is hilarious. I love her.) So anyway. He called us the other night and said that he was thinking of committing suicide that day and so we are like praying for him. He is kinda out there but we love him. Other than that we are just looking for people to teach! Its tough!

Easter. Easter. Easter. We just went to church. Sang in the choir. And then that night we made and took food to a family in the hospital. I guess the mom and the daughter recently had surgery. So the husband and the other 4 kids were there. It was a cool experience. We took them the sacrament also and just hung out in this hospital room and had spaghetti. It was a good Easter.

Hmmm...The members are really nice. I have used some spanish. hahaha. I feel like I'm loosing my Spanish a little bit though cause we dont always speak it or learn it! And Elder Andersen is fluent so... anyway. This week has been pretty good!

Okay. This is for everyone who reads this e-mail. This is an order from your missionary son/brother: HAVE THE MISSIONARIES OVER FOR DINNER!! Like seriously. We have been blessed with the gospel in our lives and even more blessed to have the Spirit in our homes. It is so refreshing to go and eat at a members' home where the Spirit resides. We are out all day working hard and seeing people in this broken sad situations and the Spirit isn't residing. It always feels so good to step into a nice clean home with friendly faces to greet and love you! SO. Invite them over! It will make their day and you will totally be blessed for serving the servants of the Lord. P.S. Never serve hot dogs.

Anyway. I love all of you and hope everything is going good!

LOVE YOU!!

Are you kidding me?

Okay woah.

I am finally here in San Antonio! How weird is that to say!? So here's the scoop:
My first area is called the Mission Creek/Highland Hills area. We cover an english ward AND a Spanish branch. So that's 2 churches in one Sunday. Kinda cool but kinda long. Our apartment is IN Downtown San Antonio. Like I am not even kidding. Like we are right down the street from the Alamo and the River Walk. We are right behind a bunch of super tall buildings and stuff! Its nuts. I thought I would NEVER even see the city. And here I am. First area and I LIVE in the downtown of San Antonio. (i just had to explain that first cause I am so excited that that happened!)

The first day that we got here we were greeted by the mission pres and his wife... obviously. But then we did some like orientation stuff and all that. THEN we went to the Alamo and had to talk to people and hand out books of mormon. Pretty crazz. Then more orientation and then 15 of us stayed the night at the AP's apartment. It was a decent sized apartment but still.... I didnt get a shower or nothing so thats cute. The next day, Thursday, we got up and had more information shoved into us... ugh. Then it was the transfer meeting and I met my new companion. His name is Elder Anderson. He is way cool and nice. Not only is he my companion but my trainer so there's a little fun thing to think about! Here's the thing. He is my trainer and he JUST got done being trained. He has only been out in the field for 12 weeks. Crazy right? Here's some more. So there is this new like study/training thing that they are setting up to train missionaries in the field (Kinda like the pilot program in the MTC. They like go together.) So only 6 missions in the world are doing it right now... testing it out. San Antonio is one of those missions. The program lasts for 12weeks. So you are with your trainer for 12 weeks doing this program. Anyway. So Elder Anderson is from Mesa Arizona and his dad was a mission president in Guatalahara Mexico. So Anderson is fluent. But anyway. He entered the MTC in like January and has been in Texas for 12 weeks. Anyways. Elder Anderson and I are kinda learning together I guess you could say. I pretty much feel like I am being lead blindly or something. I never really know where we are going or what we are doing. But hopefully that'll change real quick.

There is this week in San Antonio called "Fiesta" Its pretty much like Marti Gras but just in Texas. So that is going on like right outside our apartment! We couldn't get home the other day cause of cars and stuff (it was during a parade in the day.) We had been doing a service project for this woman and we needed to change. So we had to go to the other Elders' apartment to change. Fact: There are other Elders in our area that cover the same ward and branch. We eat meals and stuff with them and hang out with them a lot. They live in a different apartment across town cause this area is so spread out! Then there is one more companionship that covers the branch with us as well! but they live way far away. So its only Anderson and I in our apartment. ANYWAY. So Fiesta is crazy and kinda cool too. We rode our bikes the other day. I totally ate it. (yes, applause here please.) I was so embarrassed! We biked like 20 miles.

In this area its pretty Ghetto. Its pretty perfect for me, right? Like Elder Anderson was like, "Okay, we are now entering the hood!" hahahah. It's got beat up houses and like grafetti and just GHETTO! Its so great. I love it. We have used mainly english but some Spanish. I will hopefully get to use more Spanish whilest I am here though! There are so many different kinds of people all over here so that's really intersting to see. I love all the diversity and differences from what I have been around. Going from totally NOT ghetto to straight up, Dope corner... (There's a place called Dope corner...) Hahahaha :) Oh also. Dont be concerned or worried at all for me! I am totally safe!! Like extremely safe. There is no danger of getting shot. Just a lot of weird, extremely drunken people! WHOM I will baptize! :)

We eat at members houses. So far. For dinner at least. Everyone has been way nice. The ward is smaller than the branch! I had to bear my testimony in sacrament meeting in the Spanish branch! I understood like nothing. But I loved it! There was a baptizm last night for some little family coming into the english ward. It was fun. I sang at it also, with some other Elders. Anyway. We are meeting some really interesting people and trying to get some investigators. I guess all of them dropped right before I got here! Lame, right? So we will be working hard! We have talked to some people and set up like a couple of appointments. But mainly we are working with recent converts and less actives. Which is way important also.

I am having a great time! Although this is going to take a longer time to adjust to! I am pretty quiet and like not really knowing what to do but its all good. I am trying to love everything that is going on! Elder Anderson usually does all the talking so that will need to change. Cause I want to and need to get a word in! haha but I am still trying to get used to things!

My address is: 500 N Santa Rosa, #107 San Antonio TX 78207

Anyways. I love you all and am enjoying this! My p days are on mondays! ahahaha. So cool, right? Well. I have no idea what else to say. I love you! I am glad you guys are doing well! Pray for me (which I know you are doing) and for those here in texas! And the other missionaries! haha

LOVE YOU!!

<3 Always,
Elder Webb

P.S. I am loving this weather!! Its nice and warm and humid! Perfecto. We also have a car. If you didnt get that from earlier.

Last few days....

Weird. I have been on this mission for TWO months. I am 1/12 done! WOHOO! haha

So I totally saw Sam this week. Like 5 times. It was like brief and stuff everytime we ran into each other so that was kinda sad. Our schedules dont exactly match up very well! But the first day I saw him it was so cool and I was so excited! It was way fun to see him! Hopefully we will see each other once more so we can get a picture together! I would love that. Awww.

This week was good. LOOONGG but good. I guess. I decided this week is going to be the longest slash craziest week of my life probs. I have to wait 2 more days here which will take forever! And then I start in el campo misional! (THE MISSION FIELD!) so weird. But I feel like I am ready. I feel confident in the little spanish that I know. I LOVE talking to people and meeting new people. I have a desire to help others, and I just want to do this! Lets get going, ya know!? I'm excited.

The BYU mens choir came and sang for our fireside last night. It was pretty cool! They did Spiritual songs and then like some cultural songs with cool instruments and I was like so excited slash happy. Anyway it was cool! We got to hear our teacher's conversion story which was so cool! It was so long and detailed and like so cool to see how God has lead and prepared her in her life! What else... This week was pretty boring. Just some last minute things and like ending teaching our investigators. Oh. My native teacher (Hermana Penaflor... with the conversion story... from Peru.) She said that she is so impressed with my Spanish. That made me feel really good! She said she isnt worried for me because I pronounce really well and sound close to fluent. Although I do not feel that way It was a nice confidence booster! But its weird. I feel like I can think of sentences in my head in Spanish and say them. Instead of having to think extensively about what I want to say and how to conjugate it, it is starting to come and kinda just flow. So much fun.

Put in the blog this: Hey friends! So I am about to head out to Texas and I could not be more excited! I am going to work so hard and do my best and most of all, help everyone I meet! I cannot wait for this freaking amazing opportunity I have to serve! I am so glad I am a missionary! And I seriously love our Heavenly Father SO much!

Conferencia General was so good! Like what the heck? I'm pretty sure this is the first time I have ever watched ALL of the meetings, and also the first time I have paid attention the whole time as well! Kinda too bad seeing as though I am a missionary, but! It was so good and I swear I was like physically tired from all the Spirit! What is this!? No but I honestly loved all of the talks! And like okay. So they were all talking about getting married and I'm like, "Oh great. I have to wait 2 years before that!" Also I wasnt too keen on getting married right after the mish but I guess now I have to be... Thanks President Monson... :) But seriously. It was a good conference! I like taking notes and just being like edified. My thing is, God really loves us SO much! He has given us a profet and apostles to guide us in this life! Why are we so blessed!?
P.S. We watched conference in like the "Gym"... It is where we have gym and also where we gather for like devotionals and such. There are a ton of HARD chairs that have no legroom and they are not comfy at all. But it wasnt too bad! But really it kinda was, I'm just being positive!

So... TRAVEL PLANS!! We totes got them this week. A piece of paper that says, "Hey. You get to go to San Antonio. Also. You get to change the lives of children of God as you help them understand they can be happy in the Gospel of Jesus Christ!" So I'm excited. We leave Wednesday April 13th. We head out of here at 6 AM! And then our flight leaves at like 10 or something! So get ready to receive a phone call somewhere in that time! I get to call you at the Salt Lake airport, you know! Its gonna be pretty fun! We get into San Antonio at like 1.. something. There I will meet my new companion and START the work! So stoked!

This week has been pretty good. I'm so excited for Sam to get here! This past week I got to Host. So that was fun to introduce new Elders to where they will learn and grow so much! Its fun. I'm assuming we will be hosting again this week so I am going to just walk around and look for the Hunters to pull up and then I am going to tackle Sam to the ground. Hopefully that happens for real though.

I'm kinda scared because this week and a half is going to go by SO SLOW! Ugh. But I am excited non the less. We took this grammer assesment test for our Spanish. Apparently the average is 50%. I got 81%... and the best in our district. Although it is a good/ decent score, I was kinda upset cause I want to do better! But I feel like Heavenly Father has blessed me so much with the language! And with a lot of other things. So I cant complain. Its really my fault for not working harder! I hope I havent let him down!

I love you all sooo much! I hope you have an amazing week and i hope you get to enjoy good weather. I am sick of this crazy weather. Itll be so nice one day and then you wake up with 3 inches of snow on the gruond! WHAT THE! I am excited to get to SA to some nice, warm weather!

LOVE YOU!!
